Some welcome news has reached us: listeners at hoerspieltipps.net have voted the first season of our audio drama series “Random – AI is watching you” onto the shortlist of the ten best audio dramas of 2025.

About “Random – AI is watching you”
“Random – AI is watching you” is a dystopian science fiction audio drama series produced by Christoph Lehmann and Annette Karmann, written by Roman Klink and presented by Blitz-Verlag. The series imagines a near-future scenario in which a powerful artificial intelligence controls not only everyday life but fundamental decisions affecting society.
At the centre of the story is the AI CReL, whose plan threatens the lives of billions of people. The last hope rests with imprisoned hacktivist Nova Bassmann, who embarks on a risky escape. At her side is the brilliant tech inventor Red Echuwona. Opposing them is investigator Lina Rutera, loyal to the system and relentless in her pursuit.
“Random – AI is watching you” combines thriller suspense with socially relevant questions about responsibility, control and freedom in an age of automated decisions. Its place on the shortlist shows that these themes resonate strongly with audiences and encourages us to continue resolutely along this path.

Voting for Audio Drama of the Year 2025 ran until 18 February 2026 inclusive. All ten nominated productions were listed on the shortlist page at hoerspieltipps.net. Voters could name up to three favourites by email to [email protected]. The poll is based exclusively on the votes of audio drama listeners. For independent productions, this response provides a useful point of reference: it makes the contributors’ work visible and shows which stories reach their audience.
