Commissioned by Maritim Verlag, Audio Quants announced a new season of the audio drama series “Die größten Fälle des BND” for autumn 2023. The production combines the mysterious world of past BND operations and scandals with current questions of global power and conflict.

Uncomfortably close to the world we live in today, Audio Quants raises exciting and critical questions with season 2. The story centres on themes such as artificial intelligence, data collection, deepfakes and the global struggle for skilled workers and resources. Past, present and future are even more closely connected. Alongside various fictional future scenarios, the season documents the often long history of current geopolitical conflicts. And does so without taking sides.
The Show Must Go On!
Ready, set, action … That, at least, must be how young BND agent Anna Gudwin feels. Still busy recovering from the dramatic finale of the first season, she is ruthlessly catapulted into the next round. Unaware that her next mission will be even tougher and more emotional. In the shadows of her investigations, Anna picks up her mother’s trail and uncovers a dark family secret. She bravely faces the painful discovery of who she really is and becomes the hunter of her adversaries. Anna exposes carefully concealed BND entanglements in wars and the influence of Russian oligarchs on tech giants. In doing so, she discovers a previously unknown intelligence service whose intentions are nothing less than to overturn democratic rules. At the end of a dangerous journey, Anna is offered the chance to take control of the levers of power herself. Will she resist?
New and tried-and-tested!
True to the motto Never Change a Running System, Audio Quants once again weaves documentary audio material into the second season of “Die größten Fälle des BND”, repeatedly raising the question of where reality ends and fiction begins. Goosebumps are guaranteed!
Returning voices include Jenny Löffler as Anna Gudwin or Hannah, Christian Intorp as Manfred Mor and Jo Jung as Klaus Gudwin. We won’t reveal here who the eloquent newcomers with familiar voices in the second season are.
And that brings us to the next item on the news agenda. Thomas Barthelmeus and Michael Hornig form a new but experienced writing duo, enthusiastically picking up all the threads of the first season and arranging them in an impressive match against the clock. With an improved narrative pace.
Release schedule
The second season of “Die größten Fälle des BND” was planned to comprise 12 new episodes from autumn 2023. Its first episode was announced for September 2023 on all the usual audio streaming platforms, with subsequent episodes scheduled at intervals of two to three weeks.
A prequel episode exploring the backstory of main character Anna Gudwin was planned to complement the season.
“Die größten Fälle des BND” – season 2 continues the joint series work of Audio Quants and Maritim, with a new writing duo and a further-developed approach to storytelling.
