Random – this is the very near future, in the heart of Europe: the all-powerful AI CReL determines every aspect of society and pursues a sinister plan: to save the world from collapse, it kills more and more people. Soon billions of lives are in danger. The best “weapon” against the killer AI is innocently behind bars: quick-witted, combative hacktivist Nova Bassmann – voiced by Anne Düe. She escapes in a daredevil operation and makes her way to Rediet “Red” Echuwona (Sebastian Fischer) – a nerd, brilliant tech inventor and Nova’s partner. Their dangerous fight against the AI takes them across Europe, always pursued by AI-loyal investigator Lina Rutera (Silke Haas).
Following the successful commissioned production “Die größten Fälle des BND” and numerous audiobooks, “Random” is Audio Quants’ first elaborately produced “original” released under its own label. The first season comprises 12 episodes of approximately 60 minutes each, written by Roman Klink, who is now head writer at Audio Quants. Audio Quants co-founder Christoph Lehmann directs the series and also produces it together with business partner Annette Karmann.

“Random” is set in a very near future, in the heart of Europe. The latest developments in AI are taken up and pushed further – from scepticism about technology to unquestioning belief in AI’s blessings, every perspective is represented. The series combines exciting action with thoughtful debate. It not only describes a world in which AI has slipped out of control, but also explores the origins of data collection and raises fascinating philosophical questions.
The team behind “Random” previously proved itself with the Maritim series “Die größten Fälle des BND”, which is entering its third season (episodes 25–36). With “Random”, Audio Quants brings this production experience into its own original: a new series world developed and released under its own label.
